A Trip to D.C. Day 2: Memorials
Not all of our photographs of the different memorials we visited in the late afternoon and evening turned out very well. But here's some photos that did turn out. We also visited the Korean and Vietnam War memorials and the WWII Memorial, where the reflective fountain was under repair and had gone dry.
A Trip to D.C. Day 2: Mount Vernon
Chris was reading Washington, a Life, by Ron Chernow before, during, and after our trip to D.C., so Mount Vernon was definitely a highlight.
The Potomac from Washington's porch.
The models in the museum were based on a paster facecast Washington had allowed to be made of his features during his life, based off of which, with computer models, Washington's face at different times of his life was recreated.
