Laughlin Invite

Scott ran in the Laughlin Invite on Saturday September 20th. He came in 2nd for Centennial and 7th overall out of 86 varsity runners in a 5k race, helping Centennial take first place out of 12 participating High Schools. His average mile was 5:43 with a total time of 17:45. It was a neat competition with schools from as far away as Australia participating.

Twenty-Five Years of Friendship

Remember that old saying: "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold?" Lenise and I celebrated 25 years of friendship this week. We met our freshman year in high school. We had a few classes together including, biology. It was not my favorite class and Lenise helped me study to get good grades. My parents took us to Disneyland that year and we stayed at the only Disneyland Resort there at the time-the Disneyland Hotel. Boy, do the years pass quickly! Here's a picture of the next generation:

Dallin and Austin are the cheering section with the best and loudest cowbell.

In last Wednesday's Review Journal, Scott was identified as one of the "Runners to Watch" from Centennial High School, in an article about the beginning of the season. He has proved it since, as he has been one of the top scoring finishers who helped Centennial win their first three meets.
