Christmas Morning

One of the highlights of Christmas morning was finding out that Ethan had taken 6 random objects from around the house, a screwdriver, a flashlight, etc., and had wrapped them in white paper and given them as gifts to each of his siblings and parents. Some of these were objects that had gone missing and that we'd been looking for. The kids loved Ethan's gifts the best of all and thought they were hilarious.

Santa brought Beatles Rock Band for the whole family and it was definitely the big hit gift of the day. The kids played it all morning. Then when we went to Doug and Megan's for dinner they brought it along and played it some more.
After dinner we came home and all watched one of the new movies Santa brought us. It was so perfect to be with everyone in the family, all together, all day long.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:21-23

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Christmas Eve Books

Every year we draw secret santa names so everyone is bought and buys one book for each member of our family. This year we opened our books on Christmas Eve. Our theory was maybe the kids would stay up reading and not wake up so early in the morning. It didn't work.

Christmas Eve Pizzas

New Christmas Eve Traditions: Ice Skating

So since Chris's parents don't have everyone to their home for Christmas Eve anymore, and since all our siblings are either out of town or have their own grandchildren to host for Christmas eve, we're trying to come up with our own new Christmas Eve traditions for our own little nuclear family. This year we came up with Ice Skating, Pizza making, and T-Shirt making.

Mary's Psalm

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. he hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Luke 1:46-55

Grandma and Grandpa A's Christmas Party

On the way to our family party we went to pick up crowns for the Wisemen at Burger King. We didn't expect to see Bella, Jacob, and Edward on them. In fact, I felt it was very inappropriate to have wisemen wear these, so we turned them inside out.
